Description
Summary:
The Merchandiser is responsible for the timely and accurate merchandising of all APB products and the maintenance of displays, shelves and back stock while maintaining positive customer relationships. Tasks included are the checking in and stocking of product to accounts as scheduled by the Area Sales Manager and delivery needs, the maintenance of proper back stock in the scheduled accounts, accurate invoice adjustments during the delivery cycle, the collection of payment and the accurate completion of reconciliation paperwork. The Merchandiser will insure properly stocked shelves and proper rotation of all products according to expiration dates and vintages. The Merchandiser will be responsible for the first AM and last PM call to their assigned Sales Person. Merchandiser will do any other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to: assisting other merchandisers, same day deliveries, adjusting hours/ days to fit route demands.
Product Stocking
- Check-in and stock product on shelves, displays and cold boxes as determined by the accounts’ requirements. This includes facing, dusting, managing / organizing back stock
- Reconciliation of invoices in accordance with the Route Reconciliation Standard Operating Procedure
- Check in shortages, breakage, shrinkage, and refusals with complete documentation
- Complete documentation on individual issues on the problem sheet report
- Collection of payment and ensure it matches the corrected invoice
- Stock product in preset area to the needs of each customer
- Merchandising product without damage
- Full rotation of product ensuring first in first out as reported in store visits
- Stock cold boxes, displays, and shelves to the requirements of APB to provide full access to product as reviewed in store visit
- Stock back room when applicable in accordance to account provisions and rotate stock as needed
- Breakdown of boxes and removal of trash from displays and storage areas
- Report to APB account sales representative any overstocked items or account problems
Customer Relationships
- Provide superior customer service during the delivery process
- Maintain professional relationship with account personnel and account customers
- Act in accordance to customers’ requirements for deliveries and report any issues to APB account sales representative
- Dress and conduct yourself appropriately
ABC Regulations
- Adhere to all Federal and State regulations governing the sale and distribution of Alcoholic beverages in North Carolina
- Have a full understanding of all Federal and State regulations
- Communicate to other employees and customers
- Enforce compliance completely and without exception
Qualifications:
Education and /or Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or 3 years experience in a related field
Language Skills:
- Strong communication skills
Reasoning Skills:
- Ability to identify core issues
- Ability to prioritize inputs from various teams and remain focused on the Customers’ merchandising needs
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid NC Drivers License
- Current NC ABC Sales Permit
- Personal auto insurance that meets the 250/500/100 liability requirements
Physical Demands:
- Moderate lifting (38-55lbs 75-100 times per day)
- Standing for 5-6 hours per day
- Stooping and bending 1-1.5 hours per day
- Pushing and maneuvering a loaded delivery cart weighing 200lbs for 25-30 minutes per day
- Driving for extended periods of time
- Handling loaded hand-truck or grocery cart
